Go Pink
One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, meaning almost everyone will be affected by breast cancer in some way. We want that to change.
Each October, Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) and the TMH Foundation partner with our community to stand against breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As the region’s leader in breast cancer care, TMH and the Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center will host and participate in events focused on spreading awareness and providing education.
Our annual Go Pink initiative and partnership with the TMH Foundation also raises funds for breast cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment, as well as research into its cause – and a cure.
When you give to the TMH Foundation, you directly impact local breast cancer patients, right here in Tallahassee. The Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center treats more than 1,600 breast patients each year.
See what we have planned this October and how you can join us below.

Navigating the Unexpected: A Journey Through Comprehensive Breast Cancer Care
Thursday, Oct. 10, 6 – 7 pm
Virtual Zoom Discussion
With some surveys indicating that 75% of women think they’ll never develop breast cancer, along with a CDC finding that one in four women age 50 to 74 are not up to date with their recommended screening – a breast cancer diagnosis is unexpected for many.
However, even if you never receive a diagnosis, with one in eight women developing breast cancer in her lifetime, chances are someone close to you will.
So, where should you or a loved one turn if you do?
Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is home to the Walker Breast Program, a nationally recognized model of comprehensive, high-quality breast cancer care.
Join a panel of Tallahassee Memorial physicians and specialists for an in-depth conversation about breast cancer and the advanced, comprehensive care available to fight it. Our experts will discuss how patients can navigate this disease through comprehensive care offered at TMH, and will answer your questions about the disease and the treatment process, from spotting a lump or receiving irregular mammogram results, to diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
Hosted by Alicia Hill, and featuring an expert panel, including:
- Shelby Blank, MD, Chair of the Walker Breast Program and General Surgeon at TMH Physician Partners – General Surgery
- Shlermine Everidge, MD, Breast Surgeon at TMH Physician Partners – General Surgery
- Jeannine Silberman, MD, Medical Oncologist, Psychiatrist at TMH Physician Partners – Cancer & Hematology
