Michelle-Ann Ramsay, MD

Michelle-Ann Ramsay, MD was born in Jamaica where she grew up in the rural parish of St. Elizabeth. It was in her late teens after volunteering at one of the chronic disease clinics on the island, she realized that her niche was in the field of Medicine. She loved that it provided the perfect melting pot of altruism, intellectual challenge and cultural and social diversity. She went on to attend the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, where she earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery Degree. While at UWI, Michelle-Ann served as coordinator for a student based NGO that was heavily involved in community outreach and spearheaded fundraising events to assist students from low income families offset tuition and housing costs. Her passion for providing care for underserved populations led her back to rural Jamaica where she providing medical care as a physician in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic, she served as Team Leader for Clinical Management Response for the parish of St. Elizabeth and formed part of the management team that focused on effective strategies for the prevention of spread, prevention of mortality and health resource management. Her experiences have led to a keen interest in Preventative Medicine and Global Health.

Michelle-Ann enjoys the continuity of care that is embedded in Family Medicine and the opportunity it allows her to effect change and affect the lives of her patients. She is a budding seamstress, pianist and event planner. You can often find her exploring new places with her husband, creating culinary dishes or making memories with her friends and family.
