Diversions - We continue to divert some EMS patients.
Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) is making progress managing an IT security event that occurred the night of Thursday, Feb. 2. Our teams responded quickly by initiating our incident response protocols, which included taking our systems offline as a proactive security measure and reporting the event to law enforcement.
We prepare for situations like this and have implemented a series of backup and downtime protocols – including relying on paper documentation – to enable our colleagues to continue to provide safe, high-quality care to patients.
Our teams are working around the clock in collaboration with outside consultants to investigate the cause of the event and safely restore all computer systems as quickly as possible. IT security events take time to investigate and resolve. Our investigation is ongoing and, as is typical in such situations, we expect it will take some time to determine exactly what happened.
Please know that transparency in communications is always a priority for TMH. We will provide updates as the investigation progresses, bearing in mind that security, privacy and law enforcement considerations impact the amount of detail we can provide.
In the meantime, we thank our patients and our local partners for their support, and we reinforce our commitment to continuing to meet our community’s health care needs.
