About Me
Amanda K. Davis, MD grew up in a small town in Jamaica where she learned the value of family, community and giving back. She is a first-generation medical doctor with a penchant for community service. She attended the University of the West Indies, Jamaica where she earned a Bachelor of Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
Dr. Davis continued her passion for serving underprivileged communities when she worked for three years delivering medical care to difficult to access communities in rural Jamaica. Her invaluable experiences strengthened her love for family medicine as she was able to connect with patients of varying ages and health disparities to achieve holistic wellness.
During her time as a primary care physician, she was selected to lead the Chronic Non-communicable Disease, Continued Medical Education and Quality Assurance Committees. She presented quality improvement research at the Jamaica National Health and Research Conference and was also nationally recognised for her longstanding contribution to community service with the Governor General’s Achievement Award for Excellence in 2019.
Dr. Davis is excited to continue her passion for serving the community as a Family Medicine Resident at TMH, where she can make a positive impact in her new home. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, playing tennis, and listening to personal development books, whether in the car or on the treadmill. When she is not cooking up a mean barbeque chicken or a spicy steam roasted fish, she is spending quality time with her friends and family and playing with her dog Sparks.
