About Me

Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Duncan Jackson, MD grew up as an avid sports enthusiast whose first love was football (soccer), and in particular Manchester United FC. He played competitively in high school and intramurally at the undergraduate level.

Dr. Jackson had a somewhat atypical journey to medicine. He first completed an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at Columbia University in 2011 before making the transition to medicine. He completed his Bachelor’s of Medicine and Surgery at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in 2017, where he graduated with honors.

In his fledging career, Dr. Jackson has had a diverse array of exposures, having worked in various capacities as a junior physician at the University Hospital of the West Indies and the Heart Institute of the Caribbean. Dr. Jackson is now grateful for the opportunity to complete his family medicine residency at TMH, where he looks forward to tackling healthcare challenges in the Florida Big Bend and Panhandle regions.

Dr. Jackson has a knack for being self-sufficient and even-keeled, which are traits he likely inherited from his father. He has a special interest in preventative medicine, point-of-care ultrasound, sports medicine and volunteerism. His other passions include spending time with family and friends, downtime at the beach or outdoors, music, movies and being a resident “foodie”.
