About Me
Enrique Urrea-Mendoza, MD is a neurologist specializing in Movement Disorders with a Master’s in Clinical and Translational Research. With over 23 years of clinical experience and more than 10 years as a movement disorders specialist and clinical researcher, Dr. Urrea has extensive expertise in managing neurological diseases and conducting clinical trials.
He has over nine years of experience in clinical trials, collaborating with major pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies. His clinical trials have spanned multiple neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and stroke. Dr. Urrea is experienced in incorporating technology, sensors and neuromodulation into clinical practice.
Dr. Urrea is a member of several professional organizations, including the Movement Disorders Society, American Academy of Neurology, Parkinson’s Study Group, and Huntington’s Study Group. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Capital Medical Society. His research interests include clinical trials for Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease and essential tremor, as well as gait and balance in movement disorders, wearable sensors and exercise in movement disorders.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Urrea enjoys long-distance running, photography and is an amateur ham radio operator.
