About Me
Joey Jarrard, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained general surgeon in Tallahassee, Florida. Originally from a small town in southern Georgia, Dr. Jarrard earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his surgical residency at Mercer University/Medical Center at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia, where he developed an interest in bariatric surgery. To further his expertise, he pursued fellowship training at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. During this additional year of training, he focused on advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques in foregut, reflux and bariatric surgery, as well as colorectal and abdominal wall reconstruction
Dr. Jarrard’s surgical interests include bariatric surgery, foregut/reflux surgery, and complex hernia repair. He primarily performs these procedures through minimally invasive approaches, ensuring quicker recovery times and less discomfort for his patients. Dr. Jarrard is committed to offering a wide range of surgical options, believing that each patient’s treatment plan should be tailored to their individual needs. He values the opportunity to build strong relationships with his patients and loves helping them achieve their successes and improved quality of life.
