About Me
Kandi Campbell, MD was born and raised in Jamaica. She is from a family of medical personnel, the closest being her dear mother who is a registered nurse. From the tender age of five, Dr. Campbell discovered her passion for caring and nurturing the sick when her puppy fell ill, and she had to feed it with baby bottles and, with the guidance of her mother, administer medication. She can’t express the satisfaction she received from seeing this feeble puppy nurtured back to health. Dr. Campbell knew then that she wanted to become a doctor, and she followed that dream steadfastly.
Dr. Campbell obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of the West Indies Mona Campus in Jamaica. She spent the last five years working in several areas of healthcare in hospitals and primary care clinics in Jamaica. She became passionate about family medicine while working at health centers where she met many diverse personalities. Dr. Campbell enjoyed the diversity and complexity of the patient population. She soon recognized that in family medicine you are first a doctor but sometimes play the role of teacher, listener and counselor to patients.
Dr. Campbell is elated to work with the very special team at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare and provide gold-standard healthcare to underserved communities. She hopes to work in the Tallahassee area after residency.
Dr. Campbell is family-orientated; she’s a professed mommy and daddy’s girl and a proud big sister. She loves reading, watching television, restaurant hopping, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
