About Me
Mary Peyton Hughes, MD is a Tallahassee native. She attended Maclay School, where she first developed her passion for learning. Dr. Hughes obtained her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Tulane University. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Preclinical Sciences at Mercer University. Upon completion of her degrees, Dr. Hughes worked as a healthcare technician for two years to gain more hands-on experience in the medical field. She then attended Ross University School of Medicine for her medical degree, completing her clinical studies in the Fort Lauderdale-Miami area. Her dedication to her studies resulted in graduating with High Honors. In her free time, Dr. Hughes enjoys being outside with her family and dog. Dr. Hughes is excited to join the Family Medicine team at TMH and give back to her hometown.
