About Me
Having always been fascinated by the complexities of the human brain, Miguel Chuquilin, MD, chose to pursue a residency in neurology before sub-specializing in neuromuscular diseases at Washington University in St. Louis.
Neuromuscular diseases affect the pathways between our nerves and our muscles, and as part of his training, Dr. Chuquilin learned to perform electromyography (EMH) and nerve conduction studies (NCS), which are important for diagnosing various nerve and muscle conditions. Dr. Chuquilin is originally from Peru, but he relocated to Tallahassee from Gainesville in 2023, where he was serving as Director of the Neuromuscular Fellowship at the University of Florida.
Since moving to Tallahassee, he has appreciated our community’s warm sense of welcome and the abundance of activities to explore with his family. In his free time, Dr. Chuquilin likes playing sports with his children, watching movies and eating his favorite Peruvian cuisine. He also loves to travel — and it doesn’t really matter the destination as long as he can disconnect and relax with his family.
