Pharmacy Residency Program at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare
Thank you for visiting the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Residency Website. The Pharmacy staff and faculty of the residency program welcome the opportunity to introduce our program to you.
We are very proud of our program and the high caliber of clinicians produced by the end of the residency. The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredits our program and the curriculum is designed to meet all training requirements of the accrediting body. Furthermore, through our relationship with the local College of Pharmacy, the residents have many opportunities for teaching upcoming and inspiring pharmacists in a didactic setting.
The Pharmacy staff and faculty of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare’s Pharmacy Residency Program is committed to ensuring that our residents graduate with the confidence and assertiveness needed to address patients’ healthcare needs to fellow colleagues, nurses, physicians, patients and their families. The goal of our residency program is to build on Doctor of Pharmacy education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Tallahassee Memorial is a wonderful place for professional growth as a pharmacist. We are certified in Oncology, Heart and Vascular and Trauma just to name a few. There are many opportunities for inpatient as well as outpatient pharmacy services. Our patient mix ranges from neonates to geriatrics allowing the resident an opportunity to get exposure to an array of patients in different settings. We also allow the residents the flexibility to pursue particular areas of interest that are not integrated with the required learning experiences. In addition, Tallahassee is a wonderful place to live and enjoy the comforts of Florida in a small town with a big heart.
